What Siesta processes

Siesta estimates sleep onset on the watch from heart-rate trends. The signal is processed on the watch in memory and is not sent to Siesta. The app does not collect movement data or identify sleep stages; very still daydreaming or meditation may resemble sleep and start the countdown early. A small session record (duration and timestamps) is stored locally so an in-progress nap can recover if the app restarts; it is cleared when the session ends. The app has no account, advertising, analytics, or Siesta backend.

The iPhone companion stores your preferred duration on your device and in the Apple App Group shared with your watch app. The setting is used only to preselect your next nap duration and remains until you change it or remove the app.

Apple processes App Store purchase and download information under its own privacy terms. Siesta does not operate a payment service or a user account system.

Website requests

Siesta does not intentionally set tracking cookies or run analytics on this website. The hosting provider may process connection data, such as an IP address and request metadata, to deliver and protect the site. Health permissions

HealthKit access is requested on the watch when you start a siesta. Heart-rate information is used only to estimate when the nap timer should begin. Siesta does not write health data, identify daydreaming or sleep stages, make medical decisions, or diagnose or treat a condition. You can change Health permissions in Apple Health settings.
